Sister Bernadette Mota, FMA, and Elise Arellano-Lopez
Sr. Bernadette is a Salesian Sister of St. John Bosco who was born and raised in Long Beach, California. She was a collegiate athlete and recreation coordinator before entering religious life in 2005. Her ministry experience includes young adult ministry, high school and college campus ministry, vocations ministry, athletic director, faith formation, women’s ministry, and is presently serving as the Province Director of Mission Advancement in San Antonio, Texas.
The Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, more commonly known as the Salesian Sisters, are dedicated to educating youth of all ages, serving the poor, and assisting women at risk. Their spirituality is centered on the love of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, devotion to Mary Help of Christians, and fidelity to the Holy Father. They are the largest congregation of women religious with over 11,500 sisters worldwide.
A cradle Catholic whose faith journey took her from an apathetic follower to being on fire for Christ, Elise Arellano-Lopez is a newly-married wife, and mother that is determined to be - and raise - saints.
Elise believes in spreading the Gospel with a contagious joy that draws others to the source of the Light. Sometimes, this is through the subtle, hidden works of mercy she performs as a public-school teacher; sometimes, it’s through her bold, candid testimony she shares as a Catholic evangelist; and sometimes, it’s through the art she produces as a graphic design artist and business owner of That Catholic Design. A sought-after speaker for retreats, workshops, and youth events, Elise particularly loves to share her heart with audiences of teen & young adult women.
