Are you ready for Alpha?
- Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith. Typically run over eleven weeks, each session looks at a different question around faith, and the talks are designed to create conversation in small groups afterwards.
- Alpha is by the Church, for the Church, and through the Church, but it is run worldwide in many settings—homes, cafés, restaurants, prisons, and more.
- Creating space for honest, open, and judgment-free conversations for anyone to explore the Christian faith
Every Alpha is different, but generally they have three things in common: food, a talk and conversation.
Food – Most sessions start with food, because it’s a great way to connect and get to know everyone there.
Talk – The talks explore the basics of the Christian faith and are designed to inspire conversation. Usually around thirty minutes long, they can be given as a live talk or played as an episode. Watch a talk
Conversation – There is a discussion after the talk where you can share your thoughts and ideas on the session’s topic. You can say anything.

FAQ
Q: What can I expect?
A: Each session lasts about 2 hours. You come for a meal, watch a short video, and share your thoughts on the talk with your small group who you will meet at the first session.
During the discussion portion of the session, you can ask your small group any questions you want. Our facilitators will ensure the discussion ends on time.
Q: How long is ALPHA?
A: Alpha usually lasts 11 weeks, and may take longer due to other parish events or holidays.
Q: What is the cost?
A: Great news: It's free!
Q: I am coming and will not know anybody else. Is that normal?
A: Yes! There will be others that are new to our church. You will meet new people and make some good friends!
Q: Do I have to talk and share my thoughts?
A: No! You may remain silent if you wish.
Q: Can I just ‘come and see’ for the first week?
A: Yes! Just please register to let us know you will be attending.
Q: What if I go for a week or two and don’t want to continue?
A: We ask that you commit to attending for three weeks before making a decision. If you think Alpha isn't for you, there is no pressure to continue attending.
Q: What if I missed the first week, or have to miss one of the sessions?
A: You can catch up! We will accept new registrations for the first few sessions. If you miss a week you will have access to the video presentations online.
