Music Ministry
Music forms an integral part of the St. John Neumann parish. Under the leadership of the clergy, the St. John Neumann Music Department exercises an important ministry that reaches out to the cantors, the SJN choirs and instrumentalists as well as to the members of the congregation and the community.
11:30 a.m. Mass Choir
We need more singers in this choir! There’s a lot of great classical sacred choral music waiting to be sung for that Mass, but we don’t have enough folks to tap into the repertoire. The ensemble is open to high school age singers and above, rehearses on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. and meets Sundays at 10:30 a.m. to warm up for Mass. The only musical requirement for the group is the ability to match pitch! If interested, please contact at (512) 328-3220 x 107 for more information.
Life Teen Ensemble
This group leads music for the Sunday 5:30 p.m. Life Teen Mass. Their musical style has the broadest range, including Contemporary Christian repertoire. Vocalists and instrumentalists (high school age and above) who want to share their faith through music in the liturgy are needed. The weekly rehearsal schedule for this group is under review. Currently, the ensemble meets in the Church at 4 p.m. on Sundays to rehearse for the Mass.
Sunday 5:30 Life Teen Mass Ensemble Director
Eric Paul Carreiro is the Life Teen Mass Ensemble director, and he holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition and has extensive experience as a music minister.
Sound Tech?
We’re looking for a sound tech for the Sunday 9 a.m. Mass. Contact at (512) 328-3220 x 107 or if you feel the call to serve!
