Faith Formation
The parish community of St. John Neumann has made a strong commitment, particularly in the last year, to create an integrated faith formation program for children, youth, families and adults that is strongly grounded in Catholic teaching and tradition.
Faith Formation at SJN
Strongly grounded in Catholic teaching and tradition, the SJN Faith Formation Programs begin with adult formation at every level, encouraging Scripture studies (offered Monday through Thursday), catechetical classes (Between the Masses, That Man Is You, Couples of Faith, RCIA), retreats (Christ Renews His Parish, Women’s High Tea, days of reflection) and personal reading (One-Book-One-Parish, parish library). We hope this helps our adults to be well-formed in their faith so that they can teach their children at home, encourage them to participate in Godly Play classes, elementary classes (grades 1-5) and Family Religious Education so that those children, reared in a faith foundation, will go into middle school EDGE Nights (Every Day God Experiences) and continue to high school Life Nights (Life Teen). All of these programs are transformational in nature and promote a life-long conversion process so that children grow into faith-filled adults who continue to grow in their love of the Lord, support active membership in a Christian community and are prepared to be disciples in God’s mission to the world.
