Welcome to St. John Neumann

The parish of St. John Neumann is a Catholic community of approximately 2,000 families located in the heart of Westlake at 5455 Bee Cave Road in Austin, Texas.  We have a very active parish, including ongoing parish faith formation programs for children and adults, as well as a vibrant youth ministry program.  Click here for our calendar of events. We invite you to share liturgy with us at any time during the week at any one of our masses.

We value your input, so let us know what information you would like to see on YOUR website. Feel free to contact the webmaster at info@sjnaustin.org or 512-328-3220 at the parish office. Thanks!

We are currently in the midst of a capital campaign, Building on the Cornerstone of Christ, to build a new church.  To find out more about the project, visit the capital campaign site.

Fr. Kirby Transferring to Buda

Through a process of prayer, a decision has been made by our pastor, Fr. Kirby, to be transferred to Santa Cruz Parish in Buda, Texas. The new assignment will take place effective mid-July of this year. Fr. Bud Roland (currently pastor of St. Mary's Cathedral Parish in Austin) will assume pastoral leadership for St. John Neumann. Fr. Kirby spoke of his departure from SJN in a recent letter to parishioners: "I want to thank all of you who have invited me into your hearts and homes. God has used each of you to touch my life. I am confident that this change in parish leadership will be accomplished smoothly. Please remember me in your prayers."

Vacation Religion School

This year’s summer camp, RAINFOREST ADVENTURE, for children ages 4 thru 4th Grade is set for June 23-27th, from 9-noon. Children ages 5th Grade and older are invited to be Shepherds for this program. Shepherd Training is provided June 18th and 19th and is mandatory for all those wishing to participate.  We also want to extend a special invitation to our High School Youth, who have participated in VRS in the past, to serve as Mentors for these younger shepherds. A special High School Retreat and Training will be held on Tuesday, June 17th, prior to the start of Shepherd Training. High School students do NOT pay registration and are able to earn service hours for their efforts. Finally, be aware that SJN’s Schoenstott Apostolate will coordinate the afternoon camp, immediately following VRS, on Monday thru Thursday from noon to 3 pm.  Registration forms are available at the Parish Office or online. Summer Adorers Needed

In order to sustain Eucharistic Adoration at SJN, we need teams of regular adorers to ensure that the Blessed Sacrament is never left unattended. Each team commits to one hour each Wednesday, and they cover for each other if there are conflicts. This is always a challenge during the summer, as our regular adorers go on vacation. Please consider committing to a Holy Hour this summer--- whether it's once a week or just once all summer. There's no greater source of true R&R-- and it's free! Please contact Ann Marie Case or sign up online here. More information on Eucharistic Adoration at SJN.
